— remaining faithful even when life is hard.
Then the Gospel gives us a powerful contrast. While Jesus is walking toward suffering and sacrifice, the disciples are arguing about greatness and honor. James and John want the best places beside Jesus. How often we can be like that too. We want recognition, importance, comfort, and success. But Jesus teaches something completely different:
“Whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant.” In God’s Kingdom, greatness is not about power; it is about love.
The greatest mother is the one who sacrifices daily for her children.
The greatest father is the one who works honestly and faithfully for his family.
The greatest Christian is the one who serves quietly, forgives generously, and loves sincerely.
Jesus Himself became the perfect example: “The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve.” Our world often teaches self-promotion. Jesus teaches self-giving.
