Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity: One God in Three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Many people think of the Trinity as a difficult doctrine, something beyond human understanding. And it is true that no human mind can fully comprehend God. Yet Jesus did not reveal the Trinity merely to inform us about God; He revealed the Trinity to invite us into God’s life.
The Father eternally loves the Son. The Son receives that love and returns it perfectly to the Father. The Holy Spirit is the bond of love between them. At the very heart of God is a communion of love. God is not solitude; God is relationship.
This is why the first reading tells us that Divine Wisdom was present with God from the beginning, rejoicing before Him. Creation itself flows from God’s overflowing love. We exist because God desired to share His life with us.

In the Gospel, Jesus tells His disciples that the Spirit of truth will guide them into all truth. The Father sends the Son, and the Son sends the Spirit. The entire work of salvation is the work of the Trinity reaching out to humanity. The Father creates us, the Son redeems us, and the Holy Spirit sanctifies us.
