“What we treasure today will shape the person we become tomorrow.”
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… but store up treasures in heaven.” He reminds us that earthly things do not last. Money can disappear, possessions can be lost, beauty fades, and even success passes away. But love, faith, kindness, and our relationship with God remain forever.
Jesus says, “Where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.” In other words, whatever we value most will eventually capture our heart. If our greatest treasure is wealth, our heart will revolve around wealth. If our greatest treasure is God, our heart will grow closer to Him every day.
