Imagine how lonely he must have felt.
Yet he approaches Jesus with great faith. Notice that he does not say, “Lord, if You can.” He says, “Lord, if You wish.” He already believes that Jesus has the power to heal him. What he wonders is whether Jesus is willing.
Many of us have asked the same question in different ways.
“Lord, do You really care about me?”
“Lord, do You still love me after all my mistakes?”
“Lord, am I important to You?”
Jesus answers the leper by doing something unexpected. He stretches out His hand and touches him.
