Before healing his body, Jesus heals his wounded heart.
The touch says: “You are not rejected. You are not forgotten. You are loved.”
Then Jesus says:
“I do will it. Be made clean.”
These words reveal the heart of God. Jesus is not reluctant to love us. He is not reluctant to forgive us. He is not reluctant to welcome us back. His heart is always open.
The leper approached Jesus carrying shame and isolation. He left with healing and dignity.
The same Jesus is present among us today. Perhaps we carry wounds that others cannot see—guilt, loneliness, disappointment, fear, or sadness. The Lord invites us to come to Him without fear.
