Today, St. Thomas reminds us that questions honestly brought to Jesus can become the doorway to a deeper faith. May we move beyond merely asking for signs and instead learn to entrust our lives to the One who still comes into our fears with the gift of His peace.

Thomas then makes one of the most beautiful professions of faith in the entire Gospel: “My Lord and my God!” Notice that he does not simply say, “The Lord” or “The God.” He says, “My Lord and my God.” Faith becomes personal. Christianity is not merely knowing about Jesus; it is belonging to Jesus.

Jesus then speaks to all of us: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” That blessing is for every Christian who trusts Christ without seeing Him with physical eyes. We encounter Him in His Word, in the Holy Eucharist, in the sacraments, and in one another.

Today, St. Thomas reminds us that questions honestly brought to Jesus can become the doorway to a deeper faith. May we move beyond merely asking for signs and instead learn to entrust our lives to the One who still comes into our fears with the gift of His peace.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, like St. Thomas, we bring You our questions, our fears, and our weaknesses. Increase our faith, that we may proclaim each day with conviction and love, “My Lord and my God!” Amen.
